    ARGENTINE TANGO DANCE CLASS

    SPARK DANCE CAMPS

    Dancing On Broadway

    Session 1:  June 12-16, 2017, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    Session 2: August 28 - September 1, 2017, 9:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m.

     

    Ages: 6-12

    Cost: $350 members/$400 non-members (supply fee included)

     

    Course Description

    Dancers will learn different dances in different styles of dance (ballet, jazz, modern, choreography, lyrical, hip hop) to 4 popular Broadway shows. Participants will have daily stage make-up assignments, make their costumes, props, and backdrops, and is swimming included. There will be a performance on the last day at 3:00 p.m. No previous dance experience needed. Details regarding the performance will be available the first day of camp.

     

    Campers will need to bring daily:

    Bag lunch, water bottle, bathing suit, towel, make up remover, hand towel, dance shoes (optional). Must wear comfortable clothing, wear hair up and back.

    Argentine tango has been around since the early 1900's. Today, thousands of people all over the world enjoy the wonder and benefits of this social dance.  Annapolis Tango, in coordination with SPRFC, invites you to experience a global phenomenon.

     

    Tango Core 1: Wednesdays 7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

    a) introduce fundamental elements, technique and basic figures to get you dancing at the milongas or practicas and,

    b) get you prepared to move up to Tango Core 2.

     

    Pre-Class Prep: Wednesday's 7:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

     

    If you are dropping in, we recommend you come to the Pre-class Prep to get acquainted with some fundamental techniques for Tango Core 1.

    Ballet Summer Dance Intensive for ages 12+

    Tuesdays and Thursdays

    June 20 - August 10, 2017, 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

     

    Cost:

    16 classes: $300.00 SPRFC member child/$320.00 non-member child

    8 classes: $160.00 SPRFC member child/$180.00 non-member child

    1 class: $20.00 SPRFC member child/$30.00 non-member child

     

    Course Description

    Dancers will improve technique, build strength and flexibility.

    Participants wear pink ballet shoes, black leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun. Bring a water bottle. An informal performance will be on the last day during class time.

    Previous ballet experience needed.

    Pre Pointe/Pointe Summer Dance Intensive for ages 12+

    Mondays and Wednesdays

    June 19 - August 9, 2017, 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

     

    Cost:

    16 classes: $300.00 SPRFC member child/$320.00 non-member child

    8 classes: $160.00 SPRFC member child/$180.00 non-member child

    1 class: $25.00 SPRFC member child/$30.00 non-member child

     

    Course Description

    This class improves technique and builds strength for dancers that are currently on pointe, beginning pointe, or preparing for pointe. Dancers should bring pointe shoes if they have them or ballet shoes if they don’t have pointe shoes yet.  Please wear proper ballet dance attire with hair up and back. Bring a water bottle.  An informal performance will be on the last day during class time.

    Summer Barre/Pilates for ages 12+

    August 14-31, 2017

    Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

    Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.

    Sundays, 11:30 a.m.

     

    Cost:

    16 classes: $300.00 SPRFC member/$320.00 non-member

    Course Description

    This class is for teens and adults who want to work the entire body. Tone muscles, improve flexibility, balance, and core strength.  No previous experience needed. Wear comfortable clothing.

     

    Creative Ballet/Tap Combo

    Course Description

    This class develops and uses basic tap and ballet steps in a fun way! Short choreographed dances are learned and an informal performance is on the last day during class. Hair should be worn up and back.  Pink or black dance attire, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes required.

    SOCIAL DANCESPORT

    Learn how to dance to any song, with anyone, anywhere while also burning calories, working every muscle in the body and having Fun! Feel comfortable with basics, variations in timing, turning, and club style patterns you can use in Any dance setting. Style of dance will change monthy. A partner is not needed and previous dance knowledge is not necessary. This class is open to All level dancers.

     

    Class Schedule:

    Every Monday beginning May 8th 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

    
May (8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th) = Salsa/Bachata

    June (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th) = Swing

    July 3rd = holiday special; stylizing class

    July (10th, 17th, 24th, 31st) = ChaCha/Rumba
